Details About AIEEE and Tips to Score High in AIEEE

AIEEE exams are the public exams conducted for the admission of students in professional engineering colleges like NIT and some other reputed institutes of the country. Generally, it is conducted on the last Sunday of April month. AIEEE 2012 schedule and syllabus will be announced by the concerned authorities’ shortyl. Like all other entrance examinations, it is also based on plus one and plus two syllabus. The venue of the entrance examination is spread throughout the country. It’s better to write the exam from your state as you will get a provision for state reservation in NITs.

All these years, AIEEE comes with a surprise. It will be useless if you face the examination with a pre-determined plan. Early, AIEEE was having three different papers for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with 125 questions from each subject. Each question carries three marks. When it come to the year 2007,

And in 2008, pattern changed from 2007. The number of questions again reduced to 75 with 25 from each subject. Each question carries three marks and 1 negative mark if it’s marked as wrong. To add much to the surprise, there were more questions from the practical background in Physics and there were lots of questions based on the typical IIT JEE style(Assertion and Reasoning).

AIEE surprises didn’t stop in 2009too. It was there in terms of number of questions, marks associated with question and question pattern. The total number of questions slightly increased to 90 with 30 questions from each subject. But there were two types of questions. There were 8 marks and 4 marks questions in the same paper. Some of the students failed to understand this fact as they thought all the questions are of equal marks. There were questions of passage type as asked in IIT JEE.

In 2010,

So, what will be the surprise in 2011? It can’t be guessed. But we can expect something from the IIT JEE pattern. From all these years, there are some conclusions we can easily make. One is that AIEEE 2012exams are giving more importance to concepts from one year to another. The exam is moving to the pattern of IIT JEE. The number of questions is being reduced to test the conceptual knowledge of students. Most of all, Mathematics has been the toughest paper in AIEEE.

Tips to Study for AIEEE

  1. As said above, AIEEE 2012is giving more importance to concepts and practical knowledge. While preparing for AIEEE, make sure that you know the concepts thoroughly.
  2. As the exam is showing some resemblances to IIT JEE, it will be better to practice some previous years IIT JEE questions. This will make you familiarize with the question pattern and there is a minute chance that you will get some questions directly from IIT JEE paper.
  3.  Since the number of questions is very less in the exam, you won’t get more than two questions from a single chapter. Therefore, you need to study more and more chapters to crack AIEEE 2012.
  4. All the three subjects are given equal importance in the recent AIEEE exams. Study the three subjects; give importance to the subject which you know better. It doesn’t mean avoiding other subjects. If you are focusing more on the subject you know better, it will automatically give you more number of questions in the exams.
  5. Mathematics has been the toughest paper in AIEEE for the years. If you can give some more stress to Mathematics during the preparation, it will increase your scoring.
  6. Some of the portions like Mechanics are given more importance while you are in school. But as AIEEE is concerned Mechanics is not that much important. They are giving importance to Modern Physics. You will feel it if you can go through previous years AIEEE question papers.
  7. Nowadays questions from Physics are more based on Practical physics. It means you have to give some importance to practical also.
  8.  Chemistry questions are more based on NCERT textbooks. So, it’s more than enough to study NCERT textbooks for entrance examination. It will help for both entrance and public examination.
  9.  Although there is less number of questions in AIEEE, the time won’t be sufficient to solve all the questions. Some of the questions need more time and some needs very less time. First of all do the easy questions and then go for the complex ones. It will make sure that you have solved the easy ones.
